# Media (/en/media)

The **Media** menu holds the photos and videos you upload. From here you can reuse the same file in several posts.

## Uploading [#uploading]

- Click **Upload media**, or upload straight from the composer. The upload shows its progress; large videos are sent in parts.
- Formats: JPEG or PNG photos up to 8 MB, MP4 or MOV videos up to 300 MB (Free plan: videos up to 100 MB).
- PNG photos and photos that are too large automatically get a suitable copy for the platforms that need one (Instagram, TikTok).

## File details [#file-details]

Click a file to see its preview, size, and duration. Here you can:

- write **alt text**, a description of the image for screen readers;
- turn on **Keep in library** so the file is not removed automatically;
- **Create post** with the file;
- **Delete** the file. A file used by a scheduled post cannot be deleted until the post publishes or is canceled.

## How long files are kept [#how-long-files-are-kept]

Post history stays after a file is deleted, without the media.

## Storage quota [#storage-quota]

The total size of your files is limited per plan: Free 1 GB, Starter 5 GB, Basic 10 GB, Pro 25 GB. When it is full, new files cannot be uploaded until some are deleted or the plan is upgraded. Existing files are never deleted because of the quota. See [Plans & limits](/en/paket).
